First of a series of four events around the theme of recovery. In addition to this event, Kate Horsley will present on dysfunctional relationships on November 9, 2024; Megan McKenna will discuss trauma on January 25, 2025; there will be concluding panel symposium on April 5, 2025.
Almost all persons are impacted by addiction, dysfunctional relationships or severe trauma as some point during their lives. But how do we make sense of these challenging experiences? Where is God in all of it? How do we recover and heal? This year's Norbertine Library Lecture Series engages these very important questions, though not from a conventional or "clinical" perspective. Prolific authors Kate Horsley, Lynne Hinton and Megan McKenna will navigate an interfaith, non-denominational tour de force treating the human condition of suffering, and how we can use the narrative imagination--"storytelling"--and spiritual practices to find meaning within and move beyond the wounds of addiction, dysfunction and trauma and into a space of healing, recovery and collective redemption.
