This is part of a three-part lecture series with a symposium to follow.
What does a Catholic education provide? Why faith-based? How is it funded? How do children score compared to other options? How do we make this more equitable to all children? How can we work together to provide a quality education to all children in New Mexico?
Donna Illerbrun has been in the education field for many years. She has lived and taught throughout the United States, as well as in Europe. She loves children, teaching and learning. She has seen how education plays an amazingly important role in the development of children. She has also seen the best and the worst educational settings. Donna is a strong believer in Catholic education and knows that teaching through our faith plays an important role in developing purpose and meaning in one’s life. Her discussion will emphasis how giving a child purpose and hope for the future provides the drive to learn and to apply those lessons to their life. Donna is an advocate for equitable education. She believes that parents should be able to chose where and how their children are educated. It should not be determine by their zip code.
