Norbertine Oblate Joseph Sandoval, MTS has been a course facilitator in the University of Dayton’s Virtual Learning Community for Faith Formation (VLCFF) program for the past five years; his focus has been on theology and biblical studies courses. Through the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, Joseph has recently begun facilitating courses made up exclusively of diaconate inquirers.
This aspect of his ministerial work has allowed him to help form future deacons of the Archdiocese by giving them a firm theological foundation and biblical understanding. The VLCFF program is an initiative offering adult religious education and faith formation through online courses designed to offer academic learning in theological and ministerial development topics, while building an online learning community.
Courses have been used by students applying to the Master of Theological Studies program at the New Mexico campus of St. Norbert College, located at Santa Maria de la Vid Abbey. If a prospective student does not have the theological background to step directly into a master’s level theological course, the VLCFF offers her or him the opportunity to obtain that knowledge.
